Dennis Ronald Anderson, son of Elmer and Martha Anderson, was born on September 9, 1943 in Cherokee, Iowa. Dennis was baptized and confirmed in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa.
Denny attended Larrabee school through the 10th grade and finished his junior and senior years at Washington High School in Cherokee.
After graduation, he attended Iowa State University for one quarter and later returned home to farm with this father, raising cattle and hogs. After his father passed in 1972, Denny started order buying cattle. In the 1980’s, he started trucking in addition to his order buying.
On June 2, 1963, he married Patty Weins from Calumet, Iowa. To this union, three sons were born: Todd, Joel and Scott.
Denny enjoyed family gatherings, watching RFD TV, cowboy shows, spending time with his friends and eating good meals with Patty.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Martha Anderson, father and mother-in-law, Nick and Lillian Weins, daughter-in-law Sonja Anderson, brothers-in-law, Palmer Hanson, Charles Westphal, Roger Mischke, Jim Weins, sister-in-law Judy Wagner, nephew Leon Hanson, aunts and uncles, Art and Lucille Ryden, Frank and Bernice Phipps, Eric and Mabel Gustafson, Marlo and Ruth Johnson, cousin Carl Gustafson.
Denny is survived by his wife Patty, sons Todd (Sheila) Anderson, Joel (Dew Lindstrom) Anderson and Scott (Jennifer) Anderson, grandsons Cooper and Tucker Anderson, step-granddaughters Samantha (Cody) Mortenson and Erica (Troy) Johnson. Also left to cherish Denny’s memory are great-grandchildren Brayden Schoenfeld and Paige, Maddie and Owen Johnson, sisters-in-law Ruth Hanson, Dorothy Westphal, Joan (Kenny) Anderson, Alice Daniels, Rosemary (Jim) Osterquist, Jane Weins and brother-in-law Bob (Tess) Weins and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
