Dennis Paul Lubeck, the son of Gaylord and Velma (Halderman) Lubeck, was born May 14, 1955, in Sac City, IA. His childhood years were spent in Cherokee, IA, where he attended school. He graduated from Washington High School in 1973.
After high school, Dennis started working on Motorcycles. He attended several Harley Davidson Schools in different states, and was awarded a Harley Davidson Franchise in 1975. He opened his first Harley shop located near the Lubeck Oil Station. He later expanded his business and moved to the north side of town. In 2003, Dennis sold the Harley business and later opened NAPA Auto Parts in the fall of 2004.
Besides working on motorcycles, Dennis enjoyed tinkering with anything that had a motor. He also loved animals, especially his dogs. He also enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.
On Monday, November 23, 2020, Dennis passed away at Methodist Care Center in Des Moines, IA, at the age of 65. He was preceded in death by his father, Gaylord Lubeck.
He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Velma Lubeck of Cherokee, IA; sisters, Barbara (Joe) Mangan of Las Vegas, IA, and Patty (Kevin) Melton of Cherokee, IA; one brother, Michael (Cara) Lubeck of Cherokee, IA; nephews, Daniel, Robert (Vanessa), Timothy (Katie), and Thomas (Alissa) Mangan, and Kinyon Melton; nieces, Amber (Ryan) Guenther, Nikki Melton(Eric VanMeeteren), Maggie (Nate) Cockburn, Abby (Tristen) Beck, and Riley and Carli Lubeck; also other relatives and friends.
