David L. Means, the son of Vernon and Gladys (Geringer) Means was born February 7, 1950, at Le Mars, Iowa. His childhood years were spent in Marcus, IA where he attended school and graduated from Marcus High School in 1968.
After graduation, David worked at Lubeck's in Cherokee. Through the years, he also worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad, Love Tire Shop, Brown's Chevrolet, Ruble's Gas Station, and worked construction.
In August of 1969, David was united in marriage to Judy Robinson. Together they had three children: Janet, Tim, and Jenny. They later divorced. David enjoyed bowling, swimming, and making homemade ice cream. He also liked to fish, watch the Three Stooges, and make iced tea.
On Sunday, February 17, 2013, David passed away at a Sioux City Hospital following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his parents, Vernon and Gladys Means of Marcus, IA; his three children: Janet Cedar of Cherokee, IA, Tim (Tonya) Means of Tulsa, OK, and Jenny (Bill) Boger of Cherokee, IA; eight grandchildren: Paige Cedar, Adam Cedar, Madison Means, Parker Means, Blake Means, Damon Means, Dallas Boger, and Megan Boger; brothers, Denny Means of Arizona, and Duane (Judy) Means of Marcus; one sister, Deb (Mike) Heath of Sioux City, IA; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20 at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Marcus.

VISITATION
Visitation will be at Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Marcus beginning at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. The family will be present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
