Craig A. Good

Craig A. Good, the son of William and Mildred (Leonard) Good, was born on September 24, 1949, in Cherokee, IA. He graduated from Washington High School in Cherokee. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Army, serving in Vietnam. After sustaining injuries during combat, he was honorably discharged from service. He was presented with a Purple Heart. Craig returned to Cherokee and was employed by Brown Auto Supply. He married Darla VanPelt on March 5, 1976. They were blessed with a son, Willie. Craig entered into a partnership with Jim Schallau and Bob Hirshmann, opening South Side Supply in Cherokee. He later became the sole owner, and operated the business for over 30 years. In September of 2006, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. As the disease progressed, he was forced to close South Side Supply in December of 2007. He passed away at his home near Cherokee on Monday, May 21, 2012, at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Audrey Nelson. Craig loved cars, hunting and exotic animals. He enjoyed collecting antiques and Coca-Cola memorabilia. He was a man with a wonderful sense of humor, and a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Darla, of rural Cherokee; his son, Willie and his wife, Amber and children, Brayden and Emma of Cherokee; two brothers, Ronnie (Kathy) Good of Meriden, IA, and Louis Good; a sister, Shari Downing of Lake City, FL.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will be Thursday, May 24th from noon until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

INTERMENT
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee.
