Christina Louise Martin made her way into this world on December 20, 1997, the daughter of Cherie (Mitchell) and Chuck Martin. The majority of her childhood was spent in Quimby, where she graduated from River Valley High School. She was currently a nursing student at Iowa Central Community College.
Christina was an excellent student, yet still found time to participate (and excel) in the many extracurricular activities available to her during her high school years. Among her favorites were softball, dance and golf. She remained focused on her studies, and was nearing the completion of her goal of becoming a nurse. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, watching Netflix, and spending time with Brendan. She loved her role as “big sister” to her siblings. She brought positivity and love wherever she went. Helping others had always been in the forefront for Christina. Her memory will live on, not only through those who were a part of her life, but through the life-saving, life-enhancing gift of organ and tissue donation.
On December 31, 2018, Christina’s life was cut short as the result of a deer/motor vehicle collision. She was preceded in death by a sister, Brianna Lame, and grandfather, Everett Lame.
Among those who will miss her greatly are her parents, Cherie and Richard Lame of Quimby, IA, and Chuck and Heather Martin of Storm Lake, IA; her siblings: Autumn Kestel, Alexis Mitchell, and Dylan, Lilly and Keytin Martin; her grandparents: Bill and Sandi Herrig of Storm Lake, IA, and Garland and Sandra Otto of Albert City, IA, Debbie and Jim Daniels of Mingo, IA, Mike Mitchell of Alta, IA and Ellen Mitchell of Spencer, IA; great grandmothers, Norma Otto of Albert City, IA, andAlice De Sotel of Guttenberg, IA; her fiancé, Brendan Rupp of Cherokee; many other relatives and friends.
