Charoltte L. Reis, the daughter of Charles and Lydia (Pocta) Maly was born August 15, 1936, in Steele, ND. Her childhood years were spent in Braddock, ND where she attended school and graduated from Braddock High School. She attended college for two years and received her teaching certificate. Following her schooling, Charlotte taught at country schools near Braddock.
On October 23, 1954, Charlotte was united in marriage to Pius Reis at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Braddock. They remained in North Dakota where she stayed at home helping to raise their 13 children. In 1970, they moved to Colorado where Pius worked for Grand Junction Pipe and Supply Company. They remained in Colorado until 1985, when they moved to Holstein, IA where they retired.
Charlotte was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. In her free time Charlotte enjoyed reading and playing bingo, but most of all, she loved being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On August 18, 2010, Charlotte passed away at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lydia Maly; husband, Pius Reis; one daughter, Barbara Reis; and one son-in-law, Dale Zimmer.
She is survived by her 12 children: Mary (Lee) Malard of Bismarck, ND, Paul (Lori) Reis of Linton, ND, Betty (John) Riddle of Le Mars, IA, Katherine Zimmer of Marcus, IA, Margaret Mesler of Cherokee, IA, Joyce Reis of Des Moines, IA, Michael (Brenda) Reis of Hartley, IA, Theodore Reis of Cherokee, IA, James Reis of Correctionville, IA, David (Denise) Reis of Lawton, IA, Timothy (Christal) Reis of Pierson, IA, and Thomas (Vicky) Reis of Topeka, KS; 28 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles "Jim" (Mary Lou) Maly of Columbia Station, OH; two sisters: Joanne (Leo) Vetter of Bismarck, ND and Edith Rau of Bismarck, ND; as well as several nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Holstein, Iowa

Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M. Friday with the family present from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday night at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Holstein. There will be a vigil service at 6:00 P.M. also at the Church
