Charles Henry Fangman, the son of William and Philomena (Peppersack) Fangman, was born November 29, 1941 in Cherokee, IA. He grew up outside of Cherokee, and received his education at the local Immaculate Conception Schools. He went to work for Schmidt Furniture in Cherokee as a flooring installer. From 1967-1969, Chuck proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for many years with Ament Construction in Cherokee. In 1991, he made his home in the Iowa Great Lakes area, and once again did flooring installation for what was then Duhn-Kendall Flooring. He worked there until his retirement. In 2012, he moved back to Cherokee.
Chuck was a detail-oriented person, who always liked things done "perfect". He enjoyed having the latest model of new cars and pickups. He was a longtime member of the local L.A. Westcott VFW Post #2253.
On Friday, October 14, 2016, Chuck passed away at the Cherokee Specialty Care Center at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Christina; a sister, Iline Malzer and her husband, Dennis Malzer; and brother-in-law, Bill Perkins.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Ann Fangman of Cherokee and Rosemary Perkins of Virginia Beach VA; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 17th. The family will be present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
