Celestine Eischen

July 30, 1915 — February 12, 2011

Celestine Eischen, the daughter of John and Josephine (Hecket) Corzilius was born on July 30, 1915 in Cherokee, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent near Maryhill where she attended school and graduated from Maryhill in 1928. After high school, she attended and graduated from Mount St. Mary's in May of 1932. She worked at the AAA Office prior to her marriage. On January 18, 1944, Celestine was united in marriage to Harry Eischen at the Maryhill Visitation Catholic Church. She lived and worked in Cherokee her entire life. She was an avid card player and enjoyed quilting. On February 12, 2011, Celestine passed away at Country Side Estates in Cherokee at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry in 1980 and her daughter Ruth in 2008. She is survived by her children: Leo and Cathy Eischen of Cherokee, IA, Ralph and Barb Eischen of Minneapolis, MN, Monica Eischen and Tony Moulton of Atlanta, GA, and Mary and Scott Carnes of Cherokee, IA; seven grandchildren: Megan Eischen, Edi Eischen, Casey McKenzie, Emily Eischen, Tyler Eischen, Sarah Carnes, and Katie Carnes; two great-grandchildren: Britton McKenzie and Xavier McKenzie; as well as other relatives and friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday February 16, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception School in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at Noon on Tuesday with the family present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday night at Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a prayer service starting at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
