Carole M. Grauer

Carole M. Grauer, the daughter of Fritz and Ethel (Pearson) Ogren was born May 25, 1936, at the family farm in Cherokee County Iowa. Her childhood years were spent on the farm near Grand Meadow, where she attended school and graduated from Grand Meadow High in 1954. On June 12, 1955, Carole was united in marriage to Sherald F. Grauer at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Following their marriage they made their home in Cherokee where Carole worked as a secretary for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 41 years. She retired in 1997. Carole was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee. She enjoyed golf, bowling, and attending her children's and grandchildren's activities. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. On December 27, 2013, Carole passed away at the Countryside Estates in Cherokee surrounded by her family. She was 77. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Ethel Ogren; two sisters, Betty Arlene Kimball and Shirley Ryan; and one brother, Arnold Ogren. She will lovingly be remembered by her husband Sherald Grauer of Cherokee, IA; her two daughters, Gina G. (David ) Frank of Bloomington, MN, and Connie C. Grauer of Iowa City, IA; three grandchildren, Spenser (Karen Naig) Frank, Mason Frank, and Casey Frank; one brother, Robert Ogren of Nokomis, FL; two sisters, MaryAnn (Jim) Anderson of Larrabee, IA, and Linda Kardy of York, PA; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the CRMC Hospice in Cherokee.

VISITATION
Visitation will begin at noon on Monday with the family present from 5-7 P.M. Monday night at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee.
