Carol Ann Lane

Carol Ann Lane, age 70 of Cherokee, IA, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Cherokee Specialty Care in Cherokee, IA. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023, at the Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Cherokee. Pastor Jane Johnston will officiate. Burial will take place at Hospers Cemetery in Hospers, IA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. OBITUARY

Carol Ann Lane, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Bauer) Neville, was born November 22, 1953, in Sac City, IA.  Her childhood years were spent in Odebolt, IA, where she attended school and graduated from Odebolt High School. After graduation, she worked at the nursing home as an aid, laundry cleaner, and cook.

Carol was united in marriage to Robert Lane in 1974. Following their marriage, she worked on a big ranch before staying home to raise their three children: Tracy Allen, Nancy Jean, and Nena May.

Carol was a member of the Oakdale Evangelical Free Church, rural Meriden, IA. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, fishing, and camping. She also enjoyed attending fairs, canning in the summertime, and baking. Most of all, Carol loved spending time with her family and friends.

On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, Carol passed away at the Cherokee Specialty Care in Cheroke, IA, following a long battle with cancer, at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by her son, Tracy Lane; parents, George and Dorothy Neville; and one brother, Jim Neville.

Carol will lovingly be remembered by her husband, Robert Lane of Cherokee, IA; daughters, Nancy Lane of Cherokee, IA, and Nena (John) Dailey of Quimby, IA; as well as other relatives and friends.
