Brenda Lee Meyers

 Brenda Lee Meyers, the daughter of Doris (Yazel) Meyers was born November 11, 1961, in Boone, IA. Her childhood years were spent in Boone and Pilot Mound, IA. Her family later moved to Spirit Lake, IA. In 1983, Brenda was blessed with a daughter, Angela. In 1985, she met William Smith Jr. in Mesa, AZ. They lived in Arizona for a short while and welcomed their son, Anthony. In 1987, they moved to Milford, IA and welcomed their daughter, Katie.

 The family moved to Cherokee, IA in 2000. Brenda worked at the Best Western for six years, and was a well known bartender at Archie’s for many years. Most of all she loved being a homemaker and raising her children. She was also a loving mother to other children in the community and always strived to help them anyway she could.

 She enjoyed gardening, watching westerns, garage sales, thrift shops, and antique stores. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

 On May 8, 2018, Brenda passed away at Lakes Regional Medical Center at the age of 56. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Meyers; brother, Rick Meyers; grandson, Anthony Meyers; and one nephew, James D. Meyers.

 She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Billy Smith Jr. of Cherokee, IA; children, Angela (Neil) Gorton of Hitchin, England, Anthony (Shelby) Smith of Washta, IA, and Katie Meyers of Spencer, IA; grandchildren, Andrea, Jr, Lily, and Logan; one special niece, Kilie Jo; and her siblings, Tom Meyers, Katherine Strain, Shirley Housley, Alice Cadman, Connie Sudbrock, and Betty Helland; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
