Betty (Reznikov) Tymeson, 83, of Alta, Iowa, and formerly of Cherokee, passed away November 18, 2009, at Sunset Knoll in Aurelia, Iowa following a lengthy illness.
Betty (Reznikov) Tymeson, the daughter of Lemuel and Amelia (Rameburg) Lewis was born July 4, 1926, in Charleston, West Virginia. On July 28, 1951 she married Charles Reznikov in Hagerstown, Maryland. They moved to Cherokee, Iowa in 1952 and started KCHE radio in Cherokee. They lived here for many years where Betty worked for KCHE radio, Delaplane Shoe Store, and the Chamber of Commerce in Cherokee, Iowa. Charles preceded her in death October 11, 1979. Betty was an avid golfer and bowler, winning many women's golf tournaments. She later married Claire Tymeson in Storm Lake, Iowa. Betty was proud of the military. All of her brothers, both husbands, and her son Ron served in the service. He also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son Ron, of Alta, Iowa; a sister, Gwynn Parkinson, of Winchester, Virginia; grandsons, Justin Reznikov, and his wife, Tiffany, of Omaha, Nebraska and Jordan Reznikov, also of Omaha; granddaughters, Dr. Leah Reznikov, of Iowa City, Iowa; Lora Reznikov, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Reznikov and Claire Tymeson, 5 brothers and 1 sister, and 1 grandson, Niki Lee Reznikov.
SERVICES
Memorial graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa at a later date.
