“To Val and family....I just learned of Paul's passing and I'm grief-stricken. Steve and I have shared many movies with him lately. He was a forever friend. One I didn't see often but we had history from working together at the police department in the good days...caring about each other and having each other's back and being able to pick up where we left off....he was a forever friend and I will cherish the moments we shared. You are in my thoughts and prayers.”

“It was with sadness that I found out about Paul leaving the world unexpectedly. In contemplating his loss it occurred to me that Paul and Val had about as big an impact and part in my life as my own family. I spent many of my formative years close by as I was probably at your home as much as I was at my own. I know Paul's sense of duty to others is in some part why I joined the military and even though I am guessing, why Jeremy joined as well. People like Paul leave an empty space in this world when they leave it. I know he will be missed, I will miss those times that we crossed paths when I was back home, visiting family. I wish I was able to be there in person to tell you how sorry I am that he is gone.”
